About the Webinar Series The Frontline Defences Webinar Series is a continuing professional development (CPD) programme for healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, physicians, nurses, community health workers, and public health practitioners. It addresses the growing threat of unsafe medicines—substandard, falsified, and unregistered products—which undermine treatment outcomes, drive antimicrobial resistance, and erode trust in healthcare systems across Africa. The series brings together experts working in African contexts to share practical insights, real-world case studies, and actionable tools. It also engages students and community stakeholders to ensure knowledge translates into broader public health impact. Structured as a continuum—Prevention → Detection → Action—the first segment focuses on prevention, strengthening frontline capacity to anticipate and mitigate risks associated with unsafe medicines.
