PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
This month’s message would not be complete without mentioning the World Cup Football (Soccer to some) championships. Congratulations to our colleagues from Spain for winning first place and the gold medal. Spain is one of 15 countries with more than 100 ISOPP members. Double congratulations! (I issued the challenge in my last President’s message to guess the country with the most members with guesses sent to president@isopp.org).
My last President’s message also contained a plea for donations. This was not an easy ask. The decision to go to a no-fee membership structure was predicated on being able to raise funds based on increasing membership numbers. We have clearly accomplished the goal of dramatically increasing the membership with is at over 6300 members strong from at least 130 countries; however, increasing the revenue has not kept pace with the membership growth. We are working on strategic plans to gain sponsorship and revenue from sources other than associated with our annual meeting. Until then, we can use your help. Our goal is to raise $30,000 CAD by August 31, 2026. We are aiming for an optional but suggested donation of at least $10 CAD from each member recognizing that some may not be able to give anything and others may be able to give more. Our plans for celebrations related to World Cancer Pharmacy Day (May 6) are in motion with the approval of a recognitions committee. To date, we have endorsement from 20 oncology pharmacy organizations with additional endorsements on their way. The Global Pharmacy Leaders Group is going to help how best this important day can be recognized in their country. You can also provide suggestions by sending your ideas to president@isopp.org.
The next “Tuesdays with Barry” sessions are scheduled for July 28, 2026 (see below for links). Although we got off to a slow start, members were actively engaged in the last sessions.

The sessions for August will be on Tuesday August 4 and 18. Additional information will be sent closer to those dates. However, all sessions will use the same Zoom link.
Although the annual meeting for 2027 is not finalized, we are currently working in collaboration with SOBRAFO. The meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 12–16, 2027, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
