Irene Weru

Irene Weru, Senior Specialist Pharmacist, Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya
Irene is the head, pharmaceutical products at Kenyatta National Hospital and is responsible for formulary management, quantification, budgeting and supply chain planning. She has previously served as head of clinical pharmacy practice at the hospital.
She is a member of the National Cancer Institute and Cancer Control Program of Kenya quality management and Treatment, Palliative Care and Survivorship expert working groups and contributed to the development of Guidelines for Establishment of Cancer Centres and National Cancer Protocols. Irene has been an ISOPP secretariat member since 2020 and is the ISOPP secretary 2021 - 2024.

Irene has a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (2001) and Master of Clinical Pharmacy (2009) both from the university of Nairobi.
