Call for volunteers to review the existing chapters of ISOPP’s Standards of Practice

This is a call for volunteers to review the existing chapters of ISOPP’s Standards of Practice.

Great progress is being made in updating the ISOPP’s Standards of Practice with new chapters. Members have commented on them, volunteers have finalized them, and the Secretariat is currently reviewing them. The next step now is to review and revise the existing chapters, which a dedicated core of members have begun. In order to help complete the review in an appropriate timeframe, we are looking for interested members to review the following chapters.

If you are willing and available, please email standards@isopp.org to express your interest by Wednesday, June 5, 2019. The goal is to present the updated Standards at ISOPP 2019 Symposium in London, October 10 to 13, 2019.

Chapters currently not assigned:

  • Documentation
  • Home care
  • Laundry
  • Non sterile procedures
  • Warning staff of presence of cytotoxic agents
  • Waste handling and patient excreta

Chapters that may be able to use additional reviewers:

  • Checking procedures
  • Chemical contamination monitoring
  • Education and training
  • Hierarchic order in protection measures
  • Medicines management
  • Personnel
  • Risk Management
  • Special devices (covering drug transfer devices)
  • Ventilation tools

Thank you for helping ISOPP and for making the ISOPP Standards of Practice the global standard, which, by the way, are cited internationally. Thank you as well to the volunteers who have spent the past few years creating, reviewing and revising them. There is still work to be done. We look forward to hearing from you.
