Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract Submission and Review Timeline

The deadline for abstract submission is Tuesday, November 8, 2016, midnight UTC. Peer review by the ISOPP Research Committee will take place between Wednesday, November 9 and Monday, December 12. The submitting author will be notified of acceptance by email the week of December 12, 2016.

 

Presenting Author Registration

The presenting author MUST register for ISOPP 2017 by Monday, January 23, 2017 or the abstract will automatically be withdrawn.

 

Publication of Abstracts

All accepted abstracts will be published in an issue of the Journal of Oncology Pharmacy Practice provided the presenting author registers for the Symposium by Monday, January 23, 2017. By submitting an abstract, you consent to the publication of this abstract.

 

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to disclose any conflict of interest.

Preferred Presentation Type

Please select one of the following presentation options during online abstract submission:

  1. Platform or Poster (only ISOPP members will be considered for platform (oral) presentations)
  2. Poster

Posters will be presented as electronic posters (e-posters), see Poster Presentation Information for details. Encore presentations are only accepted as posters.

 

Abstract Categories
  1. Process Improvement/Pharmacoeconomics (PR): includes drug preparation and delivery, projects to enhance patient care or improve effectiveness or efficiency of pharmacy services; cost-benefit analyses; cost-effectiveness analyses
  2. Clinical Science (CS): includes oncology/pharmacy practice; MUEs; innovative patient care services/activities; unusual/unique clinical and/or management cases; projects to document pharmacy interventions
  3. Translational/Basic Science (TS): pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics
  4. Trainee(TR): Student/Resident Fellow/Pharmacy intern/pharmacist-in-training, etc.
  5. Encore Presentation (EN): For data/abstract that has previously been presented at another meeting or published in profession journal

 

Abstract Title 

The abstract title must be less than 150 characters. If the title is longer than 150 characters, you will not be able to submit your abstract. Please use title case e.g. Upper and Lower Case and NOT UPPER CASE.

 

Abstract Length

The abstract length is limited to 250 words not including the abstract title, author names or affiliations.

 

Abstract Content

The submission system will prompt you to follow the following abstract format:

  1. Objective/Purpose
  2. Study Design/Methods
  3. Results/Key Findings
  4. Conclusion/Recommendations

Abstracts must describe completed research (abstracts that contain results and conclusions).

 

Language
Abstracts are accepted in English only.
 

Number of Submissions 

There is no limit to the number of abstract submissions

Platform Presentation Information

The platform presentations are scheduled in the morning of Saturday, April 29. Each presentation is scheduled for 15 minutes including questions from the audience. Presentation specifics will be communicated to the submitting author closer to the Symposium date. The first author must be the presenting author.

 

Poster Presentation Information

Electronic Posters (e-posters)

You will not need to print and carry your poster(s) to Budapest! Posters will be presented as electronic posters (e-posters) instead of traditional paper posters.

If your abstract is accepted for poster presentation, you will be asked to submit an e-poster file to the ISOPP abstract management system, which is very simple:

You create your poster in Microsoft PowerPoint, usually an e-poster is 6 to 10 slides. Once created, you upload your PowerPoint file using the abstract system’s existing password protected upload feature. Detailed directions will be provided in the poster acceptance notice.

The uploaded PowerPoint files will be converted into individual e-poster PDF files to preserve your content and formatting (including embedded video files). These individual PDFs will be combined into a single file and uploaded onto viewing stations.

 

E-Posters Display

E-posters will be on display on viewing stations, consisting of large screens on stands with laptops, and set up in the ISOPP 2017 Exhibit and Poster Hall for viewing between Wednesday, April 26 and Saturday, April 29. The combined e-posters PDF file will also be made available to attendees online, so posters can be viewed at their leisure during and after the Symposium.

 

Poster Viewing Session – Mandatory Presentation

Poster presenters will be allotted a 5-minute timeslot to present their e-poster during the Poster Viewing Session, scheduled in the afternoon of Friday, April 28. Presentation of your poster is mandatory. Once the presenting author registration deadline has passed, a presentation schedule will be shared with presenters and registrants.

Poster Awards

Up to four posters will be selected and awarded as the best posters of ISOPP 2017.  To be eligible for a poster award, presenting authors have to be ISOPP members and must have presented their poster during the Poster Viewing Session on Friday, April 28. Encore presentations are not eligible for poster awards.
